“Love is my only path. I am, in fact, a pilgrim on the path of love.” —Swami Kripalu.
Chandra’s overriding desire is to apply yoga, Ayurveda and over 35 years of experience as a medical practitioner toward helping others integrate and balance body, mind, and spirit.
She views yoga as medicine and draws upon her western knowledge of the body with yoga anatomy to address the whole person as an individual by combining postures, breath work, meditation, and, depending on the requirement, iRest® Yoga Nidra.
Chandra is deeply drawn to the use of Pranayama and the philosophy of yoga—bridging the heart and mind through the use of breathing practices—and promoting peace through meditation and the study of ancient Indian teachings.
Her experiences through yoga and Ayurveda have led to an exploration of the nature of the true Self – an evolution in process – which includes working toward shedding layers, balancing contradictions, and “un-habituating.”
Inherent in her teaching is the belief that every person is unique. Practicing presence and learning to embrace what unfolds is at the heart of Chandra’s practice.
Chandra is Physician Assistant-Certified, and an E-RYT 200, RYT 500 Certified Yoga Teacher, Yoga Teacher Trainer, and IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist (1000 hour), who has professional level certifications from the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in the following specialties: 500-hour Yoga Instructor; Ayurvedic Practitioner (National Ayurvedic Medical Association and Accreditation Council Member); and Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist.
She has also completed an additional RYT 500 Acharya (spiritual teacher) program in the Kripalu tradition.
In addition Chandra is an iRest® Yoga Nidra Level II, Lifeforce Yoga® Level 1 Practitioner, certified Reiki Practitioner, and has completed training in Healthcare Professional Level Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in Mind Body Medicine.
